Zones

Zones are permanent effects that change the state of the battlefield and they belong to either an Elemental Stance or a Damage Type Stance. Unlike status effects, the effects of Zones will be active for the entire duration of the battle. Zones are deployed by specific Valor Chants (like Gariyu (Another Style)) or skills (like Aegir Saber). They can only be overwritten by deploying another Zone, or removed by using specific Zone-cancelling skills.

Zone effect damage increase is a damage multiplier which stacks multiplicatively with other parts of the Damage Formula.

Fire Zone affects all enemies and party members
Change to damage of elemental skills
  • Fire type attacks damage increased +50%
  • Wind decreased -50%
Change to charging of Another Force
  • Charging of Another Force (AF) gauge changes from per hit to per move, i.e. multi-hit moves and 1-hit moves fill AF gauge by the same amount
    • AF gain of Fire type moves is 7.5%
    • AF gain of Wind type moves is 0
    • AF gain of other moves is
      1.5%  normal charge of 1 hit without zone

Gariyu turn-end buff, Hardy turn-end buff
Fire Zone effects stay until end of battle unless another Zone Stance is activated or a Zone-removing skill is used

Water Zone affects all enemies and party members
Change to damage of elemental skills
  • Water type attacks damage increased +50%
  • Fire decreased -50%
Change to charging of Another Force
  • Charging of Another Force (AF) gauge changes from per hit to per move, i.e. multi-hit moves and 1-hit moves fill AF gauge by the same amount
    • AF gain of Water type moves is 7.5%
    • AF gain of Fire type moves is 0
    • AF gain of other moves is
      1.5%  normal charge of 1 hit without zone
